It’s All About Perspective

With anything, it’s all about perspective.  Life will always present challenges to interrupt the good times and keep us humble.  And sometimes, those challenging times can even appear to eclipse all of the good that we are surrounded by.  It may be challenges in the personal realms of work and relationships, or headwinds in the face of your goals and desires, but having perspective in the face of adversity always prevails.

We all know this, but it can be easy to forget.  It takes relentless repetition and constant awareness to maintain a clear perspective.  Whenever I find myself in the flow and feeling that I have a good healthy perspective on everything, I can feel that energy of optimism throughout my entire body.  Sometimes even with a little belly laugh.  I’ll find humor in the fact that I had hesitation or doubt and a different sense of humor in relishing the belief that I will accomplish that goal in the face of adversity.

Real estate is strife with challenges.  If you are buying, it starts with the basics of what, where and when amidst the parameters of a budget.  Then you dig into the market and what is available, filtering with the aforementioned details to a certain few real options.  Now queue the voices of reason; should we wait for more options, should we go after this or after that, at what price, countless other terms of the negotiation. On the other hand, selling too is most often an emotional dance.  The memories and milestones that happened there, the full experience reaching back to when you closed on the property however long ago.

As an agent it is often the job to be the omniscient perspective.  The voice of reason absent of emotion.  It is our responsibility to assess and highlight the facts and provide our expert opinion on what we see as the best course of action to achieve our client’s goals.  The best agents see right through the challenges, we focus in on the objective in spite of countless distractions and execute according to your (our client’s) intended result.

As far as the Aspen market goes, it is my opinion that we will see more activity this summer season.  While volume and inventory has been below averages in the wake of a few years of record activity, the FED’s indication that rates will drop this year coupled with that fact that home value appreciation continues to hold strong throughout all segments of Aspen and Roaring Fork valley, I expect that the both buyers and sellers are getting ever more anxious to make things happen in 2024.

Call or message me today.  Let’s discuss the market, your goals and make a plan to execute.  With over 15 years of business experience in Aspen and beyond, I will provide the insight and perspective to make those dreams a reality.
