Price Improvements
What goes up, must come down? Well, that has not been a theme in the Aspen real estate market for quite a while. Up, up and away seems like a more fitting phrase. But that may be changing in certain pockets of the Aspen market.
As your real estate advisor, I am always trying to see trends and find the best opportunities whether you are looking to buy, sell or rent. In the past week or two, my inbox has been littered with subject lines that read ‘price improvement’ or ‘price reduction.’
As you may have read in my August newsletter, I thought this may happen. As the summer selling season winds down, I expected we may see some urgency from both sellers & buyers. Sellers who expected more offers throughout the summer but were reluctant to reduce prices and are now getting worried they may carry their property into the winter and see further price reductions. And buyers who have been playing the ‘wait and see’ strategy that are now getting anxious they may be renting again this winter, or worse yet, not spending time in Aspen at all.
The confluence of these two positions may lead to some exciting activity as the leaves begin to change this September. If you are looking to buy, sell or rent in Aspen, get in touch today and let’s discuss your plans and how best to achieve them.
